YHY Seattle's Story

Here in Seattle, the culture is rich and heart-warming, and the sense of giving back to community is considered a norm. Everywhere you go, there are new eye-opening events, driven organizations, and once-in-a-lifetime internships and volunteering opportunities. Yet, because of how diverse and large the community is, it is so hard to find the perfect one for you and your interests. As the first global chapter of Youth Helping Youth, the YHY Seattle team saw a missing part of the community in the greater Seattle area. YHY Seattle quickly became the bridge between youth and opportunity, connecting the two and helping both sides in their best interest. They connect students with opportunities aiming to enhance leadership skills, discover passions, apply for jobs/volunteer positions, gain real-life experience, find mentorship, and network with like-minded people!

In just under a month, YHY Seattle reached over 1000 youth in the greater Seattle area, and over 100 organizations in the area and across the nation. Even during these difficult, uncertain times, the chapter continues to provide ways for youth to get involved in their community. However, there’s still a long way to go, and so much more planned ahead! In the future, YHY Seattle will host webinars, fundraisers, and special events, all with the same goal: giving back to the community by helping youth along the way, to become the next leaders and changemakers of the future!

Mission Statement

Youth Helping Youth (YHY) is a student-led, non-profit organization that promotes opportunities
for youth. YHY Seattle is the first global YHY chapter and will promote opportunities for youth in the greater Seattle area.

Through social media, word of mouth, connections with local community centers, partnerships
with organizations and our own events, we connect students with opportunities to enhance
leadership skills, discover passions, apply for jobs/volunteer positions, gain real-life experience,
find mentorship and network with like-minded people!

Youth Helping Youth wants to inspire the next generation of leaders and changemakers. The
the ultimate goal is to become a platform where youth feel empowered to take initiative in their own lives.
